My background spans backend development, data science, and machine learning — including research at the NSF-funded Center for Science of Information on integrating ML concepts into computer science education. Predicting World Happiness

Built two predictive models in Python to estimate national happiness scores using Gallup World Poll data. Implemented Linear Regression and K-Nearest Neighbors with scikit-learn to analyze socioeconomic drivers of happiness.

(1) Built an information retrieval engine in Java that searched a corpus of New York Times opinion articles, computing TF-IDF weights to rank results and (2) compared the performance of three stemming algorithms — Porter, Snowball, and Krovetz — using Python's NLTK library
